Holcomb Valley — Winter Sport Weekend — Coyote Crag
The drive into Holcomb Valley set the tone — backcountry roads, open views, and just enough mud to keep it interesting. One of those days where everything flows. No rush, no stress. Just climbing, resetting, and climbing again.
Approach
Short and easy, dropping us right at the base of the crag. Perfect for a quick day trip or a relaxed weekend.
Routes
The sport routes at Coyote Crag are varied and enjoyable, with something for everyone. We climbed 'Hidden Gold'(5.7) on Gold Wall, 'Fever Pitch'(5.3) on Gunsmoke, and 'Bye Crackie'(5.7) on Coyote Crag. The routes are well-bolted, and the quality of the climbing is consistently good across the crag.
Conditions
Late November — unseasonably warm weather with temperatures in the mid-70s. Ideal for sport climbing without the chill of winter.
